Chapter 24 - Promises Made From Bone

“You've changed a lot since you were a child,” Gawayen said as he moved to sit in the chair next to his desk. He did not usually like chairs, but it made any logistic paperwork so much more palatable. “I still remember you and Yveth playing in the surgeon’s room when you were young. She had such a flare for the craft even then”.

As he spoke Ayna subconsciously ran her hand across her her ribs. “Yes,” she said, offering only a troubled look to show how she felt about the matter. “I remember my time with her well”.

“Look at you now!” Gawayen laughed, “You should undress by the way. I can’t access your piercings if I can’t see all of them now can I?”

Slowly Ayna began disrobing, taking off the layers of leather that stuck to her body, obscuring her form from prying eyes. As more flesh was revealed a network of pale scars came with it, spanning from beneath her neck to her waist. A network of piercings sank into her flesh in arcane patterns but they only served to make the scars in her skin even more obvious. She revealed her thighs but both the scars and esoteric piercings continued.

Her leather skirt hit the floor as Gawayen ushered her close enough for him to touch. He ran his fingers along the bones that jutted out of her flesh, following them from her waist to her nipples. Her body shivered and she instinctively shied away, but she stood where she was. He always loved that response.

“Some of these bones are positively ancient. They’ve just about had all the Gi sucked out of them”. His hands ran down her stomach before taking hold of her hips and looking her in the eye. “You know, Yveth really is the perfect example of a Kimbramancer. She’s ruthless, violent, and her body can take more bone piercings than anyone I have ever seen, despite her frame. You, however, are something else”. He paused. “I have a set of fifty piercings that I could give you, made from the remains of my three greatest boneslaves. Now I could give the entire set to you, even affix them this very evening, but what will you do for me in return?”

Ayna blushed before wrapping her arms around her waist. She looked away for a moment, “But sir Gawayen, you know I’m incomplete. Why would you be willing to give such a prize to me?”

“Your incompleteness was my daughter’s first bone. It may be a stain on your heart, but it should be a mark of pride for you. Either way you’ve grown into a fine woman and I’ve always rewarded greatness”. He stopped before smirking slightly and raising his hand up her body. “I even have a replacement rib for you, if you really want to be complete again”.

Ayna gasped. Sinking down to her hands and knees, she bowed and left her head on the ground. “Please, sir, allow me to be complete. I will become your eternal servant in body and soul if you let me take the next step and become a greater force amongst the Avalonian people”.

“Good girl,” Gawayen said, before bending down to stroke her hair. “Become my faithful pet. Devote yourself to me, and I will give you more than your wildest dreams. Since the death of Yveth’s mother I have been looking for a new Lady Gwen, and if you please me I could consider you”.

Ayna raised her head in shock before returning it to the ground. The back of her neck flushed pink as she mulled over the chance that he had just given. Rather than say anything, Gawayen just sat back and let her stew in her thoughts. He had her dancing in his palm, which meant now he had a true follower amongst the next generation of Kimbramancers. With just a little more pushing he knew that she would do anything to please him, but at the same time he knew he could not take this quickly if he wanted both her permanent affection and unwavering worship.

“Stand, pet. Once we leave this room you will be my woman, Lady Gwen in training. This gives you power, but be warned; if you misuse it, or simply use it against my interests, I will break your mind, ruin your power, use your wasted husk of flesh for pleasing my troops, and then when your body dies I will grind your bones into powder and seal them in a jar that will sit in the old graveyard of Avalon until the end of days. Nobody will remember you and your Gi will be wasted, even when we are freed from the grasp of that bitch, Babel, you will still be sealed and forgotten. Do you understand me?”

She began shivering in fear the moment he began listing off all the things he would do to her and did not stop even after he ceased speaking. The room was silent for an entire minute while she shook in fear, but finally her body calmed down and she managed to eke out the words “Yes, my lord”.

Gawayen smirked. He had planted all the triggers he needed within her and now he just had to wait to pull them. He sat in his chair silently for a full five minutes before finally taking Ayna by the chin and raising her to her feet gently. “Good. Now let’s get these old piercings out. This will hurt, but I promise that once we are done you will get the chance to experience more pleasure than you ever have before. Are you prepared?”

Ayna nodded. Her breath quickened and her chest heaved as Gawayen raised his hand over her body. Reaching beside the ample bed that she was lying on, he grabbed a knife and began cutting lines across his arm. His rich blood began dripping onto her frame and pooling on each piercing that covered her body. After an indeterminate amount of time he began chanting in a language foreign to the human tongue. The blood on her body began glowing and the wounds on his arms slowly stopped bleeding. His voice droned on, slowly approaching a fevered pitch. He closed his fist, his blood began shifting hue, the bone piercings started melting, and Ayna began screaming.
