Hey Everyone!
I'm finally done, just in time for Christmas! The book is published and you can buy it on Amazon now. Last time I posted I mentioned that I wasn't sure what I should do with this website from now on. I've finished Babel, and will be doing primary releases on Creative Novels in the future, so this site would be left in a kind of limbo. I decided a few days ago that I may as well keep updating here, as a creative diary of sorts.
The original point of Babel, and this site, after all, was to catalog my sanity and to write, so there's no real harm in continuing to do what I was already doing. Rather than writing about Babel, though, I will be releasing pieces of information about my new story (it finally has a name by the way: The Three Rings). That's all for the new year though, as until then I'm going to try and focus on writing things I've not been focused on for close to half a decade at this point, and instead just write some fun short stories.

Second Last
Hey everyone!
So this will be my second last post with regards to Babel's publishing, as the series is NOW COMPLETE (In a rudimentary form, I still have to edit it a fair bit). What does this mean? Well I am releasing five chapters today, and then five chapters on release day (hopefully some time next week), before moving on to my next series! My next series I intend to fully work with my publishing company on, as with Babel I haven't been, I've just used them as a few extra views for the series. That series will be starting as soon as I finish the body of the planning, and I'll probably be releasing it two or three chapters a week, depending on my plans.
So what does that mean for this site? I'm not sure, honestly. I might start releasing bits and pieces of worldbuilding on here, like character bios, designs and such, but I don't really know. This site has been a section of my life for around four years, so I'd be remiss not to use it for something. The big question is what?
But honestly, that's a thought for another day. Here are the five chapters I owe you all. Enjoy!

Ten
I'm back again! With EIGHT chapters this time.
I know it's been almost four months, but hey the struggle is almost over. Writers block came back in a pretty big way, but I pushed through it and am on the home stretch now. I can see the scenes; eight full chapters and two epilogue chapters, hence the title of this update. Don't worry though, there's still a few twists and turns left for you to see, as well as a few combat scenes and what I hope people will find is a satisfying conclusion to Laurence's story.
What have I been up to for the last few months? Mainly sweating. It's been really goddamn warm in the UK, with it only cooling down over the last week, which has not helped my ability to write. You'd think doing something mostly sedentary would be easier in the heat, but it just becomes rather uncomfortable to do anything that isn't living in the shower in a country that simply doesn't use air conditioning. I think I need some kind of fan. My mental state has been okay though. I've been happy with things, or at least content about how things are going with my life, which is better than this time last year when I was in the depths of a profound depression. I've not made too many stupid choices as of late, other than not writing enough to finish Babel, and am mostly sleeping better. I'm improving. Either way, here's the chapters:

Well I'm good at this
I'm back again!
Don't worry, I've not given up, and I'm still here. I'm just really goddamn bad at... everything. I messed up the release link last time, so I fixed that today, and then I posted on twitter that I would release a chapter or two on Wednesday. Soooooooo, I decided to release three to make up for it! With the bonus of the chapter I should have released... two weeks ago...
Either way, there's only 16 more chapters till the end (I think), and I'm going to be working on that while I also continue to work on the bits and bobs for Ramp. I might post a link to the to-do list of stuff I have left on its own page here, but be warned; the world-building is massive with this one. I have a lot to do, and a TON to prepare before I'm happy with what I have, but I'm actually really excited about starting to write the series. There's already so much groundwork that I cannot wait to see the details form in front of me.

Returning to Form
Hey everybody!
So new week, only one chapter this week, because I'm bad at life and I'm still getting back into the roll of things, but I am persisting with releases at least once a week. Hopefully I'll be doing 3 or 4 a week by the time I'm back to form, but we shall see. The depression really took the wind out of my sails about everything, but life is finally looking up for me.
Not much to really talk about life-wise, other than my helper/editor is finally back with internet, so we can work on things together again. She's helping me with a ton of stuff for Ramp when I finally start working on that beyond the ultra-detailed planning phase I've got going. It's cool, because while I'm hyper creative and good at broad strokes in world-building, she is absolutely gifted when it comes to the minutiae that makes a universe tick. Honestly, her talent blows me out of the water, so I'm very happy to have her back after WAY too long.
I want to get back into gear with the writing in a big way, especially now that things are starting to work out again, so you will see more from me, and perhaps when I'm really on top of things, you might even get DAILY updates (We live in hope, haha). Either way, here's the chapter! Enjoy:

Coming Back From The Dead
Hey everyone!
So this is awkward... I'm back, and I'm hopefully back for good. Aaaannndddddd.... I owe you all an explanation on my disappearance.
I've never made a secret of the fact that I'm probably not the most mentally sound of people in the world, and the last few months have been a pretty good example of that.
Last year sucked. A lot. I was never in the best place mentally, and everything just began stacking upon me until it was too much to bear. I was in physical pain thanks to a root canal that needed to be done, my mind was everywhere that it shouldn't be, and the long term relationship I was in ended which cut out the small net of support that I felt had left. I couldn't think, couldn't write and couldn't do anything but go through the motions at work. Then I got the flu and that lasted through all of January.
I was in an absolute malaise.
Thanks to the support of friends, some very old and some rather new, as well as lots of time, my mind slowly got back into the mindset where I could actually focus on things again. I'm still erratic, as is my work, but for the first time in maybe... two years I think I can say I'm feeling a bit better. I wouldn't say I'm well, but I'm nowhere near as bad as I was.
Now, onto better news! I'm back, which means more chapters! I've got 10 to drop here, and more to come. I estimate that there's probably 16 more before the end of Babel, but depending on chapter length and me changing plot on the fly, that might increase or decrease. Just know, we are in the final fifth of the book after SO LONG!
What does that mean? Well... while I was absent, I wasn't just on my arse crying in a dark room. I spent a lot of time planning what would come after Babel, whether I wanted to pick up one of my scraps or work on something completely new, and my answer happened to be a concept I had been playing around with since I was nineteen. It was never even a fully formed concept, but I refined it, and am continuing to refine it, and now have a MASS of detailed plans for the novel. The tentative title is Ramp, and it's a LitRPG. I haven't given up on Xianxia and Xuanhuan as genres, but I do need a rest form them. I've been writing in that genre for three and a half years and I need to switch things up. I have also not given up on From Ashes, but there is a lot I want to work on with that before I'm comfortable writing more of it.
Finally ASAP, I'm going to do some housecleaning for my Patreon and Twitch pages. I've not looked after them properly and I need to actually make them professional, and functional. (On a side note, big thanks to ShadowDragon10565 for reaching out to me on Twitch and anyone else who was wondering where I was. Even that small amount of support was enough to make my day, so thank you. Seriously.)

Roadmaps and Roadblocks
Hey everyone!
New week, new missed week, new chapter releases. I finished an arc last time, and as I get closer to the end of the story it is harder and harder to finish it, partly because I don't want it to end (I also really want it to end so I can focus on other projects), but also partly because I don't want to mess the ending up. There's a lot I have to close off, and I don't want too many loose ends to hang about with the story. Some of it will be left in the air, because Laurence's story will be over, but that doesn't mean everyone's will be. Either way, there's an old face showing up in a few chapters, the final member of the crew before the eventual final arc. I wonder if anyone can guess who it will be?
On a side note, I saw the comment that someone left where they were wondering about what happened to one of the characters who was a focus of a side story. Generally I like the idea of their path once the story ends being left up to the minds of the readers, so really unless I specify that they died or they lived happily ever after it's up to you. Anyway, here's the chapters!

Landmark release, stupid instability.
Hey all!
So do you ever get that feeling where you try to keep up with something and miss the deadline by a day, so you try and make up for it but that puts you more behind? Yeah, that just happened to me for the last 3 weeks. I've been trying to release chapters but was massively behind for the entire time and it's been kinda hellish, but I knuckled down and have now released all the chapters I was behind by, plus a single extra long chapter :D
On the downside I think I'm developing RSI in my fingers because of writing/gungeon (I swear all my offtime is spent playing that). This is not a good week for me D: Anyway, here's the chapter backlog!

New Arc, New Week!
Hey everyone!
New week, new set of chapters, and the beginning of a new arc! We're quickly approaching the halfway point of the novel, and I'm honestly pretty excited. There's a lot to go through, but I'm still aiming to have the story finished by the end of September. It'll be hard work, but I reckon I can do it. 1000 words a day? No biggie! I might also start restreaming my writing during the day, if people are interested. Anyway, enough of my rambling! Here's the chapters

The end of the siege
Hello everybody!
New chapters new week. Been working hard on this one, but I've got distracted by moonlighter repeatedly during my off-time. I'm quite happy with it though, as I'm currently the third fastest runner of the game on the planet! I know it's a dumb achievement, but I still like it.
In other news, I have finished the current arc! It's only taken forever because of my dying a death in the new year, but it IS actually done! I'm happy beyond belief about that. There's nothing else to really talk about in my life other than the awful heat plaguing the UK right now. It's abysmal and I'd like for it to go down a little. I'm going to sleep at like 4 AM so all the heat is gone and the bugs don't bother me when I have an open window (I mean I'd be sleeping around then anyway, but right now I have an excuse). So here are you weekly chapters! Enjoy!

Well that's another milestone!
Hey everybody!
So big news, firstly the novel is moving! I've reached an agreement with a website called CreativeNovels and will be hosting my stuff on there in future. As it stands, I will only have the first book on there for a little while, but over the next couple of months I will be moving over there entirely! The website is larger, so I should get a lot more viewers and there's actually a marketing team there, which is something I absolutely suck at!
In other news, I discovered that Babel has reached over 300,000 words released. This is a massive milestone, as I never actually thought I would write anything that long! I'm incredibly happy with it, and I expect the series to be around 400,000 by the end (give or take a few thousand words). We're making progress, and the series is slowly coming to a close!

So big news, firstly the novel is moving! I've reached an agreement with a website called CreativeNovels and will be hosting my stuff on there in future. As it stands, I will only have the first book on there for a little while, but over the next couple of months I will be moving over there entirely! The website is larger, so I should get a lot more viewers and there's actually a marketing team there, which is something I absolutely suck at!
In other news, I discovered that Babel has reached over 300,000 words released. This is a massive milestone, as I never actually thought I would write anything that long! I'm incredibly happy with it, and I expect the series to be around 400,000 by the end (give or take a few thousand words). We're making progress, and the series is slowly coming to a close!

Keeping Up To Date
GREETINGS!
I hope everyone is well. New chapter is out, new week is over, and new things are happening! I'm still working through some situations with my big secret project thing, but as far as my chapters are going, I'm still writing and working on them. The siege is almost at its conclusion, for better or worse, and I will be moving on to the next part within about 3 weeks! Woo!
In other news, as I mentioned last week I am streaming often on twitch, and that is going pretty well. I'm now an affiliate, with my own emotes and everything! Swing on by if you are into that kind of thing, and you want to listen to a deep voiced Englishman talk at you for a few hours. Anyway, here's the chapters!

Something's coming...
Hey everyone!
New couple of chapters are out, and I'll be working on improving my release rate as much as I can, but the last week has been a bit hectic for me. There's been a lot of good stuff going on behind the scenes that I'm pretty excited for, but only some of it I can announce at the moment. There should be some big changes happening soon which I will hopefully be able to talk about, but util everything is set in stone I don't want to say. As for the other big thing, I am now a Twitch.TV affiliate! It doesn't mean anything insane yet, but it does mean that I have a sub button and can get emotes now. Anyway, here are the chapters:

Week after week
Hey everybody!
New chapter release, new week. I'm getting back into things, but it's rough because of how screwed up my routine is at the moment. Hopefully that should change soon, but we will see. We're somewhere around 1/5 of the way through the book which I'm happy about. That said, there's a long way to go with the writing and the final part of Laurence's story. I think this section should finish by chapter thirty so wait for that!
In the meantime, I started streaming again during the day. It's just me playing videogames during my downtime between writing and going to work most days, but if you're around at 3-5PM GMT then you should pop in and say hello! Anyway, here's the chapters I owe this week:

Hey everybody!
At the time of writing, that's how many views my site has received. It's not a massive amount, but I'm still quite proud of it. Thousands of eyes have gazed at the writing I have put on the internet, and knowing that gives you a pretty special feeling. It's not as much of an accomplishment as finishing my first book, but I'll be damned if it's not a great one.
I'm still getting back into being regular about anything, so the chapter releases will be sporadic until my routine is in shape, but I intend to keep up with everything. So here are the two regular chapters for this week, and hopefully I will be able to release regularly as of next week.
Chapter 17 - Dragon's Teeth
Chapter 18 - Triple Toxicant
Thank you for putting up with my shit, and sticking by me even with my horribly irregular release schedule. I will get better eventually, but in the meantime you can check out my books (The Golden Children and Heaven) on Amazon if you feel like supporting me.

I'm Back...
Hello everybody!
I'm back after a 5 month break, and I'm really sorry about it. Around Christmas I had one of the longest depressed periods of my life and I've only been clawing out of it over the last month or so. I'm back now though, hopefully for good. I've released 5 chapters at once as an apology about just disappearing, but I'm going to try and catch up to where I should be for how long I've been away (35 to go lol).

I Added A Queue
Hey all!
So I'm late, as usual. I'm about half done on the next chapter, but over the next 10 days I am going to be VERY busy at work, because over the Christmas to new year period it's insane. I will try to keep as up to date as possible, but I am just dropping a warning for you all now. This time I might not be releasing not because of anything going on in my head but rather because I'll be working solidly. Now that I've covered that, I have three chapters to release! I'll be releasing the three I owe (2 Babel and 1 From Ashes) as soon as I can, but I've not had the best couple of weeks. My head has not been in a great place most of the time, but when it has been in a good place it's been really nice. Anyway, I'm sorry about the lateness and here's the chapters I owe!

My point is in the title, I'm running late on everything today, but I would not be running late last night if my PC hadn't needed to update for an hour and a half (thanks Microsoft). Either way, I'm doing the two Babel chapters I owe for Monday and will be releasing the Wednesday chapter when I get home. Gaaah.

Hey all!
Sorry about being AWOL with the chapters over the last week. It's not been intentional, in fact the Wednesday update WAS on time, I was just knackered and forgot to post about the chapter actually being released. I know, so smart of me.
Either way, you have two new Babel chapters for your perusal and one new part to chapter 1 of From Ashes! I'll try and get two babel chapters out on Monday to make up for the missed chapter and then we should be back on track. The next update will have a milestone attached to it by the way. It will be the marking point for 10% of the story, so we should only have 70 odd chapters to go from that point on! Woo! Anyway, here's the chapters:
